IMAG0862The Indalo is the symbol for Almeria, dating back to prehistoric times. It was discovered in a cave painting in Los Vélez, which has since been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Archaeologists believe that the Indalo depicts a prehistoric God, holding a rainbow with open arms. Nowadays, the Indalo is a symbol of luck and features prominently in many tourist souvenirs. Beware though – it’s only lucky if you receive it as a gift!
