Singing for Birds

As per a previous post, Cabo de Gata Photography is very proud to be a supporter of the Iberia Bird Festival to be held at the Hotel de Naturaleza Rodalquilar in the heart of Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata. The festival will run from Friday 7th through to Sunday 9th September 2012.

There is live music provided for the first two evenings and rehearsals have started for the evening of 7 September. You can expect to hear Portuguese Fado, Sephardic songs and of course the amazing musical sounds of Andalucía and the Mediterranean. This event on the opening night is led by four great professionals performing together for the first time; Sensi Falan singing and playing guitar, Martyn Thompson (ME!) playing tenor saxophone, Juan de Juani accompanying on flamenco guitar and Mar Molina dancing to our music in traditional flamenco “bata de cola”.  A great big “ole” methinks! The music for the second night (8 September) will be provided by Juan de Juani & myself and will accompany a slide-show of photographs by Jesus Contreras.

Here is a short “teaser” video of the first rehearsal where the above four artists met for the first time to begin their new project.
